Supanova Brisbane 2005 Convention Report Saturday 9th April On the first day, I arrived in my Cammy cosplay, with my friend Adam going as Ryu, and walked in the exhibition center. There were HEAPS of stalls with HEAPS of cool stuff! I spotted a Capcom Queens Cammy figure that I had wanted for so long, but I decided to browse around, see what else I could find and come back to it later, which I did (it was a tad expensive). In a short time, I had found three other Cammy figures that I had also wanted for ages. I found an Aeryn Sun figure as well from Farscape and I decided to buy two Cammy figures as they were $10 each. I bought another one and the guy gave me a discount because I was dressed as Cammy! How awesome is that! At the end of the day, Ryu and I went into the Cosplay Competition, and even though we didn't win, we had fun trying! I got up on stage, did my Cammy finishing pose and punched Ryu. ;) And I also bought myself a Please Teacher figure that was originally marked at $90 but was $25 at Supanova. Ryu and I wanted a photo taken with Ray Park (Darth Maul/Toad) and we also got him to sign Ryu's backpack which was a Darth Maul one and we got our photo taken with him! I had a great day! Sunday 10th April The second day was a little slow compared to the first day as I had pretty much seen all I wanted to buy, and had already gotten. But there were more different cosplayers as well. To my surprise, I found a Chun Li cosplayer! Later in the day, a group of Cammy, Ryu and Chun Li turned up. I wasn't the only Cammy there afterall, but it was cool to see other Street Fighter cosplayers. It just goes to show that Street Fighter isn't a dead game! So many people asked for my photo, and I had to take my cape off all day (I was cold) for the photos. But I was glad as I didn't get many photos taken with my camera. Too many bags to carry. I got Farscape Season 4, a back-issue of Newtype USA, and an Ah! My Goddess pencil-board as well. Some comics/manga and free posters in the bag we were given at the start.
